Palm Beach County officials announced a new recycling program aimed at increasing waste diversion in the region. The program will roll out on January 15, 2026, to residents across the county.
The initiative focuses on reducing landfill waste by encouraging residents to recycle more materials, including plastics, metals, and paper products. The county aims to increase its recycling rate from 50% to 60% over the next two years.
The program is a collaboration between the Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority and local environmental organizations. Officials from the Solid Waste Authority emphasize the importance of community participation in reaching the county’s recycling goals.
This new program builds on previous efforts, including the county’s education campaigns about sustainable waste practices. Palm Beach County has been working to improve its environmental footprint and promote recycling as part of its long-term sustainability strategy.
Residents can learn more about the program and access resources for proper recycling by visiting the Solid Waste Authority’s website. Information sessions will also be held at various community centers throughout January.
