The city of Marathon will host its Annual Seafood Festival on Saturday, December 16, at the Sombrero Beach Park. The event will begin at 10 AM and continue until 6 PM, featuring a variety of seafood vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities.
The purpose of the festival is to celebrate Marathon’s rich fishing heritage while promoting local businesses. Organizers expect a large turnout, with more than 30 vendors offering fresh seafood and unique dishes. Live entertainment will include local bands performing throughout the day.
Local businesses, including restaurants and fishing charters, are participating to showcase their offerings. The Marathon Chamber of Commerce is also involved in organizing the event, which has become a highlight in the community’s calendar.
This annual festival has gained popularity over the years, attracting both residents and tourists. Last year, the event drew over 5,000 attendees, demonstrating its significance for local culture and economy.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend and enjoy the festivities. Parking will be available at designated locations nearby, and shuttle services will run from selected spots to help access to the festival.
